01

What is Digital Waste Tracking?

Digital Waste Tracking (DWT) is the UK's planned system for recording and sharing waste movement information electronically.

It aims to replace paper-based processes with a consistent digital approach that improves transparency and traceability across the waste sector.

02

Why is it being introduced?

The programme is intended to:

  • Improve visibility of waste movements
  • Reduce administrative burden
  • Support regulatory compliance
  • Help tackle waste crime
  • Create more consistent reporting standards
03

What does this mean for operators?

Most organisations already hold much of the required information.

The challenge is often collecting, validating and submitting that data in a consistent format.

04

How TRACE helps

TRACE enables organisations to capture, validate and manage DWT data while fitting around existing operational processes.
